We asked @8feettravels 5 key questions

Beyond the iconic landmarks, what's one unexpectedly amazing place you've stumbled upon during your travels that most people wouldn't know about?

Even though the Gibb River Road is widely talked about, the photos and videos really doesn't put this place in perspective. It's a truly beautiful place and you really have to experience it yourself.

Australia's a big place! What's been the biggest "learning curve" or unexpected challenge you've faced while on the road as a family, and how did you overcome it?

The You have the same challenges everyone does, whether on the road or at home. The difference is there is limited time for space, ensure you find something to have that little me time. For me, Adam, it is sitting on the beach either alone or with our dog Billy and just having that 5 minutes.

If your family's road trips had a theme song, what would it be and why? -

Looking back at all your adventures, what's one particular moment or story that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of your family's road tripping ethos?

It would be Tunnel Creek on the Gibb River Road, an iconic tunnel with a creek crossing that has fresh water crocodiles. It is adrenaline pumping and scary but to get across as a family and overcome a fear is a great achievement.

Knowing what you know now, what's one piece of essential advice you would give to another family considering embarking on their own extensive road trip around Australia?

It may take months to really settle into the groove on caravan life, don't rush yourself and remember social media is really a highlights board. For us, creating mates along the way has really made this journey for us. We have sometimes spent months travelling with them, to sit around a campfire at night and have a chat with a mate or the kids making friendships all around Australia has been wholesome.

THANKS FOR THE CHAT ADAM & JESSY!
