We asked @endlessadventureseekers 5 key questions

Beyond the iconic landmarks, what's one unexpectedly amazing place you've stumbled upon during your travels that most people wouldn't know about?

Many people have probably heard of it, but Daly Head Campground on the Yorke Peninsula truly lived up to the hype. We were lucky to score perfect weather, which meant we could comfortably camp right on the cliff without the usual coastal winds. Driving down the road toward the campground, the view was absolutely breathtaking—it stopped us in our tracks.

Australia's a big place! What's been the biggest "learning curve" or unexpected challenge you've faced while on the road as a family, and how did you overcome it? You have the same challenges everyone does, whether one the road or at home.

One of the biggest learning curves has been accepting that plans can—and often do—change. Whether it's bad weather, unexpected maintenance, or someone getting sick, we've had to learn to stay flexible and adapt quickly. As a family that thrives on being organised and planning ahead, learning to go with the flow has definitely been a challenge at times. We overcome this by trying more often to go with the flow even though sometimes for us this is a new concept.

If your family's road trips had a theme song, what would it be and why?

I would have to say 'Life is a Highway', Life is a Highway perfectly captures the spirit of our journey—always moving, full of highs and detours, and driven by freedom, adventure, and making memories together as a family. It's upbeat, energetic, and all about embracing the ride, which is exactly what life on the road means to us as the Six Wheel Wanderers.

Looking back at all your adventures, what's one particular moment or story that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of your family's road tripping ethos?

There are moments on the road that stay with you forever—and for us, it's when our daughter or son asks, "Can we come back here one day?" It's in those little questions that we're reminded they're not just enjoying the adventure, they're thriving in this lifestyle.

We made the choice to leave behind a life of stress, routine, and pressure because we wanted something more for our kids—a childhood full of wonder, freedom, and unforgettable memories. We travel to give them the space to explore, get messy, make friends, and grow into confident, curious, and fearless humans.

This journey is about more than just seeing Australia—it's about living fully with them. Every dusty track, ocean swim, and campfire chat is part of their education, their joy, their story.

They are the reason we travel. They are our "why." And that will always be at the heart of everything we do.

Knowing what you know now, what's one piece of essential advice you would give to another family considering embarking on their own extensive road trip around Australia?

If there's one piece of advice I could give, it's this: get out there and travel—however and whenever you can. Whether it's a simple day trip, a weekend away, a week-long holiday, or a full-time road adventure around Australia, just start. Don't wait for the perfect time or keep putting it off for "one day," because the truth is, that day might never come.

We've learnt that lesson the hard way after losing loved ones to illness—people who had dreams they never got to fulfil. Life is short and unpredictable. If you have the chance to make memories, explore this beautiful country, and live a little slower and more meaningfully—take it. You won't regret it.
